Resurrection Power, Part 2

Your Father’s Shocking Story

Ephesians 1.19-2.7
Matthew Raley (6-12-11)

Alexander the Ephesian believes in resurrection through the god Dionysus, who revives bestial human desires. Human beings come back from the dead as they plumb the depths of sensual ecstasy, both in drunkenness and in sexual license. Paul’s God, by contrast, says that this is not new life at all, but the very essence of death. In this sermon, we study more about the resurrection power of Jesus Christ.

Resurrection Power, Part 1

Your Father’s Shocking Story

Ephesians 1.19-2.7
Matthew Raley (6-5-11)

Alexander the Ephesian has a story for resurrection. Dionysus, the god Alexander channels as an actor, is the god who releases the power of wine and gives rebirth to grapevines from the dormancy of winter. The God of the apostle Paul has a very different story for resurrection power through Jesus Christ, which we study in this sermon.
